Exeter has plenty of green spaces – especially alongside the river and canal – but of particular note are:
Northernhay Gardens, a pleasant place to wander – and with a USP of having in it the only visible stretch of Saxon town wall in the whole of England.
Rougemont Gardens – where stand the ruins of the Norman castle, and where also can be seen remains of the Roman city wall.
